We went to Nepal to hike
up to Everest Base Camp at 5364m above sea level. What an experience! But the
most amazing thing is how sophisticated and detailed the construction methods
are. With no road access and mechanical means the Nepali harvest all the
building materials from the surrounding mountains. Skilled labor-intensive techniques
are then used to shape the timber and stone to construct multi storey
dwellings.
Currently we are waiting for
a 24 ton pecker to remove some hard rock. Perhaps we can learn a thing or two
about breaking rock from the mountain people.
Wow! Gaan daai ou seriously daai moerse klip op sy rug dra? Amazing!!!
